Re-Awakening the Criminological Imagination

UK Observatory Symposium at the British Criminology Conference

"Violence in Schools: Young People as Agents of Change"

This panel addressed the question of youth crime and violence in the context of the school. A number of areas were addressed with particular attention given to acts of bullying, the role of the bystander, alternative interventions to reduce violence and the role of the school in such interventions. We presented an analysis of what government policy is trying to achieve in relation to children's behaviour and schooling.
